I practically advice all Christians to read this book .
This book is a collection of A.W Tozer's sermons on worship. He teaches what the true meaning of worship in its entirety focusing on its ingredients as; breathless adoration, lofty admiration, astonished reverence, awesome fascination, breathless silence and most importantly love for the One we worship.
The author tells you what worship is and what it is not. He stresses the fact that if you only worship God on Sundays, then you have not worshiped him at all. He emphasized the fundamental need of the Holy Spirit in our churches today rather than the advancement in technology an finer equipments used to get people to church.
He shows his appreciation for hymns stating how it was written by souls who were in intimate devotion with God.
More so, he sheds light on entertainment
Read the excerpt of the book below: "The critical need in this hour of the church's history is not what it is so often said to be:soul-winning, foreign missions, miracles. These are effects, not causes. The most pressing need just now is that we who call ourselves Christians should frankly acknowledge to each other and to God that we are worldly, that our moral standards are low and we are spiritually cold. We need to cease our multitude of unscriptural activities, stop running when and where we have not been sent and cease trying to sanctify carnal projects by professing that we are promoting them "in the name of the Lord" and " for the glory o God". We need to return to the message, methods and objectives of the New Testament. We need boldly and indignantly to cleanse the temple of all that sell cattle in the holy place and overthrow the tables of money changers. And this must be done in our own lives first and then in the churches of whom we are part"Purchase this book on www.amazon.com
